Taylor Swift and Blake Lively’s rumored fallout has taken another dramatic turn, with reports claiming the actress has threatened to release private text messages between the two.
Speculation about cracks in their once-close friendship has been growing in recent years, and rumors intensified after Blake was noticeably absent from Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s guest list for the Super Bowl, fueling fresh questions about where the pair now stand.
Blake had previously joined Taylor Swift in a VIP suite during the 2024 Super Bowl, with clips of the pair celebrating together quickly going viral.
But when the Kansas City Chiefs returned to the championship game in 2025, Blake was noticeably absent, prompting widespread speculation.
According to The Daily Mail, sources claim the actress was left “livid” and “humiliated” after reportedly being left off the guest list.
The report alleges that Blake, through her legal team, wanted Taylor to post a message on social media expressing regret that Blake couldn’t attend.
The suggested post reportedly read along the lines of: “So sad, my bestie couldn’t come to the Super Bowl,” in an effort to reassure fans that there was no rift between them and explain Blake’s absence.
The outlet further claims Taylor refused the request, after which Blake allegedly threatened to release “ten years” of private text messages exchanged between the two.
According to the report, the messages include discussions about Taylor’s high-profile relationships and other personal conversations.
“It was the ultimate blow to their friendship,” one source claimed.
“The threat to expose Taylor’s most intimate confidences unless she posted something to explain why Blake was missing at the Super Bowl was outrageous.”
“There was no going back from that.”
Michael Gottlieb, Lively’s attorney, denied the claims, saying: “This is categorically false. We unequivocally deny all of these so-called allegations, which are cowardly sourced to supposed anonymous sources, and completely untethered from reality.”
The pair’s longtime friendship reportedly came under strain in 2024 after Taylor became entangled in Blake Lively’s legal battle with her It Ends with Us co-star and director, Justin Baldoni.
Blake accused Baldoni, 41, of sexually harassing her during production and later orchestrating a retaliatory smear campaign.
The dispute soon expanded beyond the two actors, drawing several high-profile names into the controversy.
According to court filings, Baldoni alleged that Blake relied on her friendship with Taylor to influence creative decisions on the film.
In January, text messages between Taylor and Blake were unsealed as part of the legal proceedings, revealing conversations about the emotional toll the film had taken on Blake and the strain it placed on their friendship.
Taylor and Blake first became friends in 2015, and Blake’s children — James, Inez and Betty — even appeared as voice cameos on Taylor’s song “Gorgeous.”
However, as reports of a fallout continued, The Daily Mail claimed Taylor had chosen to distance herself from her role as the children’s godmother.
“It was one of the toughest decisions she’s ever had to make,” a source reportedly told the outlet.
“It was very emotional because she loves the girls. It hurt her heart, but she had no choice given the circumstances.”
