Katrina Law is about to share a particularly special moment with NCIS viewers: her daughter, Kinley Andreen, is making her acting debut alongside her on the long-running CBS drama.
Kinley will appear in Season 24’s November 10 episode, titled “Speechless,” playing Chloe Sims, a young girl whose unusual abilities could prove crucial to an investigation. TV Insider has shared exclusive first-look photos of Law and her daughter appearing together onscreen.
For Law, the episode is much more than another case for the NCIS team to solve. During a recent visit to TV Insider, the actress called it her “favorite episode of television [she’s] ever done,” explaining that working with her daughter made the experience unforgettable.

A Case That Brings a Mother and Daughter Together Onscreen
In “Speechless,” the NCIS team discovers an eight-year-old girl hiding alone in her apartment after her mother, a Marine, goes missing.
According to CBS, the investigation reveals that the shy young witness has a surprising skill that may help the team crack the case. As the agents race to uncover what happened, the story explores the lengths a parent will go to protect their child.
Kinley plays Chloe, the young witness at the center of the investigation, sharing scenes with her real-life mother, who portrays Special Agent Jessica Knight.
Although NCIS has featured cast members’ children before, the episode marks a major milestone for Kinley as she takes her first acting role.
Katrina Law Praises Her Daughter’s Unexpected Talent
Law couldn’t hide her pride while discussing her daughter’s performance, particularly one skill that might surprise viewers.
“My daughter happens to speak fluent Mandarin and she’s this little blonde hair, green-eyed girl and you would never expect it from her, but she knocks it out of the park,” the actress said.
She described getting to interact with Kinley onscreen as an extraordinary experience, especially while balancing her character’s perspective with her own feelings as a mother.
“Going from Jessica Knight to proud mama, even within the confines of the scene itself, it was just mind-blowing for me,” Law shared. She added that she hopes to continue working with her daughter in the future.
For Law, the opportunity was easily her favorite acting job, calling it “the most beautiful experience.”
The Proud Mom Admits She Was the One Who Needed More Practice
Despite Kinley’s impressive preparation, filming the episode proved to be a juggling act for Law. She had to switch between being a mother, an actor, a scene partner and what she jokingly called a “set mom.”
“I don’t think I’ve ever been more tired working,” she admitted.
Law recalled rehearsing lines with Kinley and trying to make sure her daughter hit every moment in the scene. But Kinley seemed far more confident than her mother expected.
At one point, the young actress reminded her, “Mommy, I know my lines.”
Law laughed as she explained that Kinley was actually doing just fine — and that she was the one getting overwhelmed.
When the cameras were ready to roll, Law suddenly realized she had forgotten her own dialogue.
“They said camera’s ready and they were doing our touch ups and everything. I just went, ‘I don’t know what my lines are.’ I literally didn’t know what my lines were,” she recalled.
She eventually had her stand-in run through the lines with her. Meanwhile, Kinley remained unfazed.
“Meanwhile, my daughter’s just like, ‘I’m prepared. I’m seven,’” Law joked. “I was like, ‘OK, show-off.’”
The behind-the-scenes story offers a glimpse into a memorable family milestone, with Kinley making her debut and Law discovering that her daughter might be the more composed performer of the two.
NCIS airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on CBS.
