Dolly Parton’s Sister Stella Slams Trump and Republicans in Fiery Social Media Rant

The singer alleged that voting machines in Tennessee repeatedly switched her selection to Republican candidate Marsha Blackburn, prompting her to speak out about election concerns.

Stella Parton, the younger sister of late country music icon Dolly Parton, is publicly criticizing President Donald Trump and the Republican Party following her claims of problems with voting machines in Tennessee.

In a lengthy Facebook post on Thursday, Oct. 23, Stella explained what she said happened when she voted early at Hermitage Library in Nashville the previous week. Her statement came a day after she first raised concerns about the voting process, prompting responses from other voters who reported similar experiences.

“After reading all the comments yesterday about the hiccups with the voting machines, I decided to go ahead and explain exactly what happened to me when I voted on the first day of voting in Nashville, Tennessee last week at the Hermitage Library,” she wrote.

In her earlier post, Stella claimed she had to correct her ballot three times because her selection repeatedly defaulted to Republican candidate Marsha Blackburn.

“I would never vote for her for anything,” Stella wrote. “I’m putting this out here because when we vote, we take it seriously but we try not to hold up the long lines. Do it anyway. Don’t let them rig this election.”

Stella Parton raises concerns about Tennessee voting machines

Stella’s allegations echoed reports from other voters in Williamson County, Tennessee, who told local outlet WSMV4 that they experienced similar difficulties while casting their ballots.

“You try to push the button for the candidate that you’re selecting, and it goes to another candidate,” one voter told the outlet.

However, the Tennessee Secretary of State’s office offered a different perspective on the scope of the reported issue. According to WSMV4, approximately 400,000 people had voted at the time, and the office had received only one complaint matching the specific problem Stella described.

In her latest post, Stella expressed anger over what she characterized as a failure of accountability and said the situation had shaken her confidence in the process.

“When you are an honest person like most of us are, we try to trust the process but I’m livid over this, not only for myself but for every other voter in this country,” she wrote.

She also criticized what she sees as growing political division in the United States, directing particular frustration toward the Republican Party.

“I’m so angry by all this devision [sic] in our country mainly caused by the Republican Party and their lack of accountability,” she added.

The singer takes aim at Trump and Republican officials

Stella continued her criticism by questioning the country’s increasingly polarized political climate and the public response to Trump’s remarks.

“I’m sick of hearing; Blue, Red, far left, extreme right when half this country runs around like blind dogs in a meat house as the saying goes. Trump gets up and rattles on about another man’s physique and people applaud. Have we lost our ever loving minds?” she wrote.

The singer also called out several Republican officials, including U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, while condemning the administration’s handling of issues she believes affect ordinary Americans.

“Trump is even worse and out of his mind!” Stella wrote. “This voting issue will turn out like everything else they stick their noses into, a freaking disaster.”

She concluded her post with a broader warning about what she described as corruption, incompetence and online attacks against people who speak out.

“Pointing out the corruption and incompetence is a daily occurrence by me and countless others,” she wrote. “We’re screaming into the void while Bot farms attack our posts constantly. All while they are playing God with our lives. Wake up America we are on the precipice of destruction.”

Her statements reflect her personal allegations and political views; the reported voting-machine issue has not been established as evidence of widespread election rigging.

Stella’s outspoken style differs from Dolly’s approach

Stella is a singer in her own right, but she has also drawn attention for speaking openly about politics. Her late sister Dolly, one of country music’s most celebrated stars, took a more private approach to sharing her political views.

Dolly died on Aug. 25 at age 80 after a brief, private battle with an unspecified form of cancer, representatives for the Grammy-winning singer confirmed. She was laid to rest at a private funeral service in Nashville on Friday, Aug. 28.

In an appearance on CBS Mornings last month, Stella discussed her sister’s approach to politics and explained how differently the two handled public conversations about their beliefs.

“She would never have offended anyone. She never would have done that. She was smarter than me,” Stella said. “You know, I tell everything. And I like everybody knowing what I think about it. Not her!”
