Prime Video is now streaming Peacock, a thriller praised as “excellent” and “compelling”. Cillian Murphy stars as John Skillpa, a reserved bank clerk with multiple-personality disorder who manages to convince an entire town that his alternate identities are a married couple.
The film features a strong ensemble cast, including Elliot Page, Susan Sarandon, Bill Pullman, Josh Lucas, Keith Carradine and Paul Cram.
Originally released straight to DVD by Lionsgate Home Entertainment in 2010, Peacock has since drawn praise from viewers, with some calling it “brilliant” and “truly surprising”.

Critical reception was less unanimous, however. The Washington Times offered a measured assessment, writing: “While the film can’t measure up to its psychologically bent scenario, it’s still an intriguing choice at the local DVD store or on-demand service.”
Dread Central highlighted the film’s approach to its central subject: “Unlike a lot of cinematic peeks into the world of dissociative identity disorder, the script by Lander and Ryan O’Roy doesn’t spend a lot of time examining the ‘why’ of John Skillpa’s life but rather focuses on the ramifications of the ‘how’.”
Meanwhile, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette described Peacock as “a surprisingly effective (given its miniscule theatrical release) sub-Hitchcock thriller with an excellent cast.”
Collider also had positive things to say, noting: “Ultimately, 3/4 of Peacock is probably more compelling than 4/4 of a lot of a lot of other flicks you’ll come across.”
Cillian Murphy, known for his role in Peaky Blinders, has several upcoming projects, including an appearance alongside Jack O’Connell in A Quiet Place: Part III.

Murphy is also expected to star in an adaptation of Mark A. Bradley’s Blood Runs Coal and is attached to an as-yet-untitled project from director Damien Chazelle.
Earlier this year, he made an appearance in the closing scenes of 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, returning as Jim, the character he first played in 28 Days Later.
Murphy has also been rumoured to feature in a planned third instalment, although the project remains in production limbo.
Peacock is now streaming on Prime Video.
