‘Dancing With the Stars’ Changes Its Schedule for Disney Night: What Fans Need to Know

Fans of Dancing With the Stars will need to adjust their viewing plans next week. The competition series is moving its Disney Night episode from its usual Tuesday slot to Monday, November 2, due to ABC’s coverage of Election Day.

Host Alfonso Ribeiro confirmed the change during the live October 27 episode, giving viewers an update on when the competition will return and how the remainder of Season 35 will unfold.

When is Disney Night on ‘Dancing With the Stars’?

Disney Night, the eighth episode of Season 35, will air on Monday, November 2, at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on ABC and Disney+. The two-hour episode is scheduled to run until 10 p.m. ET/9 p.m. CT.

The special themed night will feature the eight remaining couples performing routines set to songs from Disney movies.

The episode will also bring back one of the competition’s signature challenges: the team dance. Contestants will divide into two groups and perform freestyle team routines, adding another layer of competition to the evening.

Ribeiro and co-host Julianne Hough will also take part, each joining one of the team performances.

There will be no new episode on the show’s regular Tuesday night slot on November 3.

Why is the schedule changing?

The shift is happening for one week only because of Election Day.

ABC is scheduled to provide coverage of the 2026 midterm elections throughout the evening on Tuesday, November 3. As a result, the network is moving Dancing With the Stars to Monday to accommodate its election programming.

After Disney Night, the series is expected to return to its usual Tuesday schedule.

‘Dancing With the Stars’ Season 35 schedule for the remaining episodes

Following the temporary change, the competition will resume its regular Tuesday broadcasts on November 10, which is also Grammy Night.

The final stages of the season are scheduled for later in November, with the semifinals on November 17 and the finale on November 24.

Here is the remaining schedule:

  • Monday, November 2: Disney Night, Episode 8, 8–10 p.m. ET/7–9 p.m. CT
  • Tuesday, November 3: No new episode due to Election Day coverage
  • Tuesday, November 10: Grammy Night
  • Tuesday, November 17: Semifinals
  • Tuesday, November 24: Season 35 finale

With Disney-themed performances and the return of team dances, the November 2 episode promises a different kind of competition night. Fans should mark their calendars now to avoid missing the action.
