Sharon Osbourne has revealed that her children and Ozzy Osbourne’s Black Sabbath bandmates were unaware of just how critical his health had become.
At the British premiere of Ozzy & Black Sabbath: Back To The Beginning, Sharon opened up about the fears she faced as her husband’s condition worsened.

Ozzy Osbourne Found Happiness Again After His Final Concert
Sharon Osbourne admitted she was frightened as her husband prepared to take the stage while dealing with serious health issues.
“I was petrified. He did great and we see that in the film. But the guys [in Black Sabbath] didn’t know how sick Ozzy was. Even my kids, we never told my kids. Nobody knew how sick he was,” she said.
Held at Villa Park on July 5, the concert reunited Ozzy with Black Sabbath’s original line-up.
For Sharon, the night brought a change that went far beyond the performance itself. After years of health struggles, she saw Ozzy laughing and joking once more.
“He was flying high again. He was so happy. Until the day he passed, he was still on that high, so thankful to everyone,” she said.
Ozzy died of a heart attack around two weeks after the concert. He had been living with Parkinson’s disease and undergone several operations after suffering a fall.

Sharon Osbourne Reveals How Worried She Was About Ozzy’s Breathing
Sharon revealed that Ozzy’s emphysema had made breathing difficult, adding to the other health challenges he was facing.
She explained that his condition was unpredictable, with two relatively good days sometimes followed by a morning of wheezing and struggling to breathe.
Before the concert, Ozzy hoped his lungs would hold up well enough for him to sing.
The film also features Sharon recalling a warning Ozzy received just 10 days before the performance.
According to Sharon, he was told he might not survive the show if he chose to go ahead. Even so, Ozzy was determined to keep his commitment.
Metallica and Guns N’ Roses were among the other acts at the event. Sharon had spent two years putting the concert together, and Ozzy took a moment to thank her on stage.
The concert film also showcases Ozzy performing alongside guitarist Tony Iommi, drummer Bill Ward and bassist Geezer Butler.
Ozzy & Black Sabbath: Back To The Beginning is set to begin a limited cinema run on October 28.
Looking back on the experience in the film, Sharon said: “He was just so elated. He was in such a great place mentally and he went out the way he wanted to.”
