Riley Green made a strong impression on the set of the CBS Yellowstone spinoff Marshals during his acting debut as Garrett.
His character, a former Navy SEAL and old teammate of Kayce (Luke Grimes) and Cal (Logan Marshall-Green), arrives unexpectedly in Montana and becomes part of life at East Camp.
During his time on the show, Garrett also forms a surprising romance with Andrea (Ash Santos), a fellow Marshal team member, before his storyline ends following a tragic barn fire on Kayce’s ranch.
Ash Santos later shared that she already knew how Green’s character arc would play out, but said the country singer was still eager to remain on the show for more episodes than originally planned.
She recalled Green joking on set that he wished his role could continue longer, while the cast teased him about his packed touring schedule and constant time on the road performing music.

It was an emotional farewell when Riley Green wrapped his time on set — both for him and for the crew behind Marshals.
Ash Santos shared that even the hair and makeup team grew especially attached to him, saying they “loved him,” and that parts of the crew were visibly upset for weeks after learning how his storyline would end.
She added that the reaction was so strong, some even expressed frustration with showrunner Spencer Hudnut after seeing the episode unfold.
Santos also reflected on Green’s transition from music to acting, saying it came naturally to him. She explained that as a singer, he is already used to storytelling through songs, which made the shift into acting feel effortless.
According to her, that ease was clearly visible on screen, adding that he has a natural ability and was simply “so fun” to work with.

Riley Green left a lasting impression on the set of Marshals, according to co-star Ash Santos.
She described him as “very sweet” and “so kind” to both the cast and crew, recalling a particularly touching moment on the day he wrapped. Santos said that even as he was heading out to perform at a show that same night, Green made sure to send flowers to the hair-and-makeup team as a gesture of gratitude.
She added that he is “just a really, really wonderful person with a great team around him,” emphasizing how appreciated he was behind the scenes.
The season 1 finale of Marshals airs Sunday, May 24 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
