After six years together, Gia Giudice and Christian Carmichael are preparing to take a major step in their relationship by moving in together. And while wedding bells may not be ringing just yet, the Next Gen NYC star has offered a hint about when fans could expect an engagement.
Speaking to Swooon, Giudice opened up about her future with Carmichael, explaining that although people have already started asking when the couple will get engaged, she does not want to put pressure on their relationship.
“People bug me [already], and I’m like, ‘We’re not even moved in with each other yet. Give me a break. Give me a second,’” she said. “But honestly, I don’t know. I don’t want to put a timeline on it. I also don’t want him to feel pressured in any way. Obviously, it’s coming.”
The couple’s upcoming move marks an exciting new chapter after six years of dating. For Giudice, however, the priority is to enjoy this transition and build a home together before taking another big step.

Friends’ engagement has Gia thinking about her own future
Although Giudice is not rushing toward a proposal, a recent celebration involving some of the couple’s closest friends has made the prospect feel more real.
She revealed that their best friends recently got engaged, giving them an opportunity to witness the excitement of a couple taking that next step. The engagement was particularly meaningful because the pair had been close friends with both Giudice and Carmichael since childhood.
“Our best friends just got engaged last weekend, and it was really exciting,” she shared.
Giudice explained that she and Carmichael were closely involved in organizing the surprise and helping make the moment special. Seeing their friends officially commit to one another naturally prompted thoughts about their own future.
“It was just so beautiful to see them make that official, and we were very involved in the setup and the surprise and everything,” she recalled. “So that definitely gave us some, ‘Aw, that will be us soon.’”
The experience seems to have made the idea of an engagement even more exciting, although Giudice remains comfortable letting things happen at their own pace.

Gia hints at a possible engagement within the next year
While Giudice is leaving the proposal itself in Carmichael’s hands, she does have a rough idea of when it might happen.
“I definitely think it’s happening soon,” she said, before suggesting that an engagement could take place within the next year or so.
Her plan is to first settle into their shared home and enjoy living together. Once they have adjusted to this new chapter, she expects an engagement to follow naturally.
“We’ll probably get settled and really enjoy living together, and then I’m sure the engagement will come within due time of us moving in with each other,” she explained.
For now, the couple appears focused on building their life together rather than rushing into wedding preparations. Still, her comments have given fans a reason to keep an eye on their relationship over the coming months.

Gia has plenty of exciting plans beyond her relationship
Romance is not the only area of Giudice’s life entering an exciting period. Her professional career is also moving forward, with Next Gen NYC recently renewed for another season on Bravo.
She has also stepped into the restaurant business with the opening of Il Vero in New Jersey, a venture she says has become a rewarding new passion.
“I am definitely looking forward to just expanding with Il Vero and just growing more and more every single day,” she said, acknowledging the challenges of the hospitality industry while expressing how much she enjoys being part of it.
Alongside the restaurant, Giudice is continuing to focus on her podcast, Casual Chaos, which has become another important creative outlet for her.
With a new home, professional opportunities and a potential engagement on the horizon, Giudice has plenty to look forward to. And if her prediction is right, the next year could bring an especially meaningful milestone for her and Carmichael.
